Donald Kibble Sr. Donald Ralph Kibble Sr., 75, of Chattanooga, departed this life on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at his residence. He was born in McMinn County to the late Ralph Samuel and Mae Green Kibble and graduated from Kirkman Technical High School in 1950.He later retired from Combustion Engineering after 45 years of service and was past Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Machinists and Aerospace Workers and served in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps. He was also a member of East Chattanooga Baptist Tabernacle and the Chattanooga Half Century Club. Mr. Kibble was the past master of Hill City Masonic Lodge 603 and Hill City Council. He was the past high priest of the Royal Arch, Illustrious Master Council of Cryptic Masons, commander of the Lookout Commandery, past grand master of the Grand Council of Tennessee. He was a member of the Royal Order of Scotland, Royal Order of Jesters, Red Cross of Constantine. He was the past Commander of Knight Crusader of Cross, past commander of Knight Commanders, past governor of York Rite Sovereign College, past sovereign master of Allied Masonic Degrees, member of the Order of Purple Cross of York Rite Sovereign College of North America, and past president of the Scottish Rite Society where he was recently awarded the 33rd degree of the Scottish Rite. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 14 and the Cherokee York Rite College and a member of the Order of Quetzalcoath. He was a 50-year member of American Legion Summers-Whitehead Group 14. Mr. Kibble was a member of the Alhambra Shrine where he served as the Potentate for 2004. He was in the Provost Unit and a member of the Cabiri of Past Potentates.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Evelyn Cox Kibble; two sons, Donald Ralph Kibble Jr. and James Darwin Kibble; daughter, Donna Ruth Kibble Scott; four grandchildren, Logan Paige Kibble, Jeremy Darwin Kibble, Matthew Tyler and Jacob Andrew Scott; one great-granddaughter, Ava Quin Brown; brother, Newell Kibble, all of Chattanooga; four sisters, Zella Shields, Sevierville, Tenn., Flora McGowan, Carole Cate and Edna Holder, all of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express its appreciation to all of his health care providers at Hospice of Chattanooga for their love, excellent care, friendship and support through his illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Dean officiating. There will be a Masonic graveside service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Alhambra Shrine Temple or to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4355 Highway,58, Suite 101, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
